NW Highlands Geopark Events Programme Activities for All Ages!
Big walks, fascinating talks, coastal jaunts and much more – come along and enjoy the company and the scenery. European Geopark Week is an annual event that occurs throughout the European Geopark Network at the same time each year. Locally this is an opportunity to explore the wildlife, landscapes and geology of the North West Highlands in the company of inspiring experts in the field. Our aim is to raise awareness of the European Geopark Network by celebrating both European’s common geological history and the role that each individual Geopark plays within this

Meet at the Hydroponicum – Garden of the Future carpark, Achiltibuie. A coastal walk with views to the beautiful Summer Isles. Discover the history & archaeology from Brochs to Crofts. Grade B

“Rock of Ages”

Meet at Knockan Crag Interpretation Centre carpark. Knockan Crag inspired the birth of modern geology. Join the ranger and take a walk to rediscover the secrets that lie beneath. Grade B

Meet at layby near Knockan Crag, Superb views and rare plants

“Achnahaird to Garvie Bay”
11am- 4pm
Meet at Achnahaird – Achiltibuie Junction. Explore the ancient rivers and lakes and get a glimpse of fossil records of the first life forces to appear on earth. Grade C
