How do I get involved in my local Geopark?

There are lots of ways to get involved in your local Geopark.

  • At the Games - Over the summer there are geopark stalls and children’s activities at all the Highland Games in the area – look out for the stalls at Coigach Gathering, Kinlochbervie Gala (18th July), Durness Games (Fri 25th July) and Assynt Games (Fri 8th Aug).
  • Attend events – spring and autumn programme advertised locally and on-line.
  • Register with Friends of the Geopark to get newsletters and events mailings via e-mail and information about volunteering opportunities
  • Share your ideas on-line via ‘Friends of the Geopark’
  • Get in touch with the Geopark staff to have a chat about ways to get involved

You can also find out what’s on in and around the Geopark by going to the areas of the Geopark (i.e. Cape Wrath, Eddrachilles, Assynt & Coigach) online interactive information centre.
